Abstract:
The talk will present some of the most popular services offered by Amazon Web Services.

Bio:
Dr. Michael Kokorowski is the Technical Program Manager of the Amazon Web Services Scientific Computing Team, joining AWS in 2014. He is responsible for the programmatic implementation of the team’s overarching goal of enabling AWS research customers, allowing them to accelerate the pace and breadth of scientific discovery. Prior to joining Amazon, Michael was on the technical staff at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena California. There, he was a member of the Mission Environments Group and served as Project Manager for OPALS (Optical PAyload for Lasercomm Sciences - an optical communications technology demonstration that is now on the International Space Station) and KCWI (Keck Cosmic Web Imager – a facility instrument for the WM Keck Observatory). Michael received a Ph.D. in magnetospheric physics from the University of Washington and a B.A. in physics from UC Berkeley.
