Abstract:
HDF5 addresses problems of how to organize, store, discover, access, analyze, share, and preserve data in the face of enormous growth in data size, complexity and access speeds. Organizations in both the public and private sectors use HDF5 to meet mission critical data needs. HDF5 solutions are found wherever data challenges exist, from radio astronomy to high frequency trading to plasma physics. This talk will include a brief history of HDF5, HDF5 Basics, HDF5 features of interest to the FNAL community, and new capabilities in the pipeline. It will also cover The HDF Group, the non-profit company dedicated to serving the HDF5 user community.
