Abstract:
ParaView is an open-source, multi-platform data analysis and visualization application. ParaView users can quickly build visualizations to analyze their data using qualitative and quantitative techniques. This presentation will provide an introduction to using ParaView with a hands-on example to get new users started. Additionally, tips for using ParaView more efficiently and effectively will be demoed for intermediate to advanced users. All attendees will get an overview of other open-source tools that Kitware is heavily involved in: Computational Model Builder (a pre-processing/workflow tool), VTM-m (a threaded library for analysis and visualization operations), ParaView Catalyst (an in situ analysis and visualization engine) and ParaViewWeb (a web-based interface to ParaView).

Bio:
Dr. Andrew Bauer is a staff research and development engineer on the scientific computing team at Kitware. He primarily works on enabling tools and technologies for HPC simulations.

Demonstration:
A demonstration of ParaView will be part of the seminar. If you would like to follow along with your laptop, you should download ParaView from http://www.paraview.org/download/ before the seminar (version 5.1.2).
