Abstract:

Lately there has been a great deal of talk about the Convergence of Web Services and Grid Standards and how this will affect the Globus Toolkit. This talk will review the concept of a Grid Service, the Open Grid Services Infrastructure, and the recent and past versions of the Globus Toolkit. It will introduce Web Services and discuss the convergence between Web Service standards and Grid Service standards as well as the evolution to the Web Service Resource Framework (WSRF) specifications. The WSRF specifications will be detailed and the roadmap for the Globus Toolkit based upon WSRF will be presented.
