Abstract:
An open-to-the-Lab WIKI site is being used at Argonne National Laboratory to allow lab-wide participation in the re-design of the Argonne's intranet. A radical departure from the central design and top-to-bottom dissemination of the organizational web standards, this open process seeks involvement of all interested parties from many separate divisions and departments almost at the grass-roots level.

Every step of the process is reflected in the project WIKI site; the system's inherent de-centralization and democratic contribution principles are a perfect match for the project's philosophy.

In this presentation we will cover:

Project goals, principles and current state

WIKI implementation and content architecture

Site demonstration

Community participation & interest level

Our initial experience
