Abstract:

FermiGrid uses the Xen virtualization package to deploy our
high-availability central authorization services. This talk will give an introduction to what the Xen package is, what its capabilities are, and how it is provisioned. I will also demonstrate how Xen allows many disparate service instances to be deployed on the same server, reducing total hardware and power cost while increasing reliability,
recovery time, and throughput.
